Huggy Wuggy is coming to Poppy Playtime game!

Huggy Wuggy, he'll never stop hugging you! Huggy, your pal! He'll squeeze you until you pop, Huggy Wuggy!

The toys based on Huggy Wuggy were best sellers and found a place in the hearts of many children around the world due to the fact that he was programmed to hug people. However, as a result of experiments on the toys at Playtime Co., Huggy Wuggy appears to have come to life and gone rogue, killing everyone in his path.

Appearance

Huggy Wuggy is a tall, slender creature with bright blue fur. His arms and legs are several feet long, with large yellow hands and feet at the end. The hands have large Velcro straps on them, and the feet have four digits, including thumbs, but they are fused together and cannot move separately (with the exception of the thumbs). His torso is stout and small in comparison to his long limbs. His head is large, and he has two large, dilated black eyes. His lips are oversized, bright red, and cartoonish.

His monster counterpart is largely unchanged, with the exception of his eyes being dilated larger than intended, giving him a deranged and disturbing appearance. A maw of dozens of jagged needle-like teeth protrudes from behind his lips. A closer look at Huggy's mouth reveals a secondary set of jaws near his throat, similar to those of a Moray Eel.

Personality

Huggy Wuggy, as a toy and mascot, is shown to be warm and welcoming, giving warm hugs to anyone. He is also known for being quiet and rarely speaking, so hugs are his prefered mode of interaction.

His monster counterpart, on the other hand, depicts him as a murderous creature who slaughters anyone he comes into contact with. Huggy constantly wears a deranged toothy smile while chasing after the player, implying that he enjoys hunting his victims (or more simply that his anatomy prevents him from not smiling).

Story

Huggy Wuggy was created in 1984 by Playtime Co., and he quickly became a smash hit, becoming one of the company's many signature toys. A year after Huggy's creation, a feminine counterpart was created.

During an unknown time period, Playtime Co. conducted numerous unethical and highly illegal experiments in order to create the perfect living toy, one of which was Huggy Wuggy. Despite the fact that Huggy was created to be a child-friendly mascot and a prototype, he ran wild. Huggy murdered many of the scientists and workers at the facility where he was imprisoned during his murderous rampage. Huggy would remain in the abandoned facility for decades until The Player's eventual return.

Huggy is first seen standing in his statue form by the player in an exhibition hall in Poppy Playtime Chapter 1. Huggy will hold a key on his right arm but remain motionless when the player's back is turned. After taking the key and reactivating the power in the Innovation Wing, the player returns to the exhibition hall to discover that Huggy has vanished.

Huggy continues to follow the player as they move through the facility. Huggy appears after the player successfully reactivates the toy-making machines and uses a toy made from the machines to bypass a door system. An intense chase ensues as Huggy attempts to catch and devour the player after following him into the facility's ventilation system. After eluding Huggy for a brief moment and landing on a shaky catwalk, the player pulls a crate onto the collapsing structure just as Huggy bursts from the vents, causing it to collapse. Though the player lands safely on another catwalk not far below, Huggy collides with the railing and falls into the facility's abyss, slamming into several pipelines and leaving behind dark red blood splatters.
