"FEAR!" That is the answer I get 9 1/2 times out of 10 when I ask a person what hinders them from achieving their goals in real estate. What is it that you are allowing fear stop you? "I am not sure" is the typical response blue world city Islamabad overseas block. It is because they don't know how to deal with the fear they feel and do not understand what it takes to overcome it. Let me begin by describing what I believe fear is. Fear is a powerful and effective emotion that was given to us to defend ourselves. Fear forces us to slow down and consider what is about to occur and allows us the time to think about. It activates our senses and lets us be aware of the world at an elevated level. Fear is a very positive experience and should not be avoided, but it should be handled. I love the slogan, "Feel the fear and do it anyway." I learned this at a self development camp I went to several years ago. It's a thought that goes through my mind whenever I'm nearing a situation which scares me.

In this camp, we tried some truly crazy activities intended to keep you safe and scare you. Things like walking over broken glass, being placed into situations in which physical injury was threatened, and tackling an obstacle course of 30 or more feet above ground. Each of these challenges was meant to help the attendees to gain insight into themselves, and develop coping skills for terrifying and stressful situations. It was extremely uncomfortable and, if it weren't for influence of peers my bet is that most people would not have been able to participate. The interesting thing about this is that peer pressure was very effective, but is not always around to assist you with your goals. When you're running a business for yourself, you won't have this outside pressure close nearby to help you complete the task at hand. You'll need a different tool in your tool box.

Travis and I were having a conversation about the other day, and I brought up a topic which Tony Robbins talks about a often. Every decision is made with two reasons. The decisions are made in order to achieve pleasure or reduce suffering. Afraiding pain is a greater motivator. It is the reason which allows fear to hinder us. If you know this, you can come up with a strategy for dealing with even the most difficult challenges in your business. The trick is to recognize the worst-case scenario that could occur if you choose to face fear. Then, you can consider the worst-case scenario should you let fear keep you from doing it. If you aren't thinking about this, your anxiety will most likely be a barrier. This is because this is because the pain of confronting the fear may be instantaneous, and appear more intense than the alternative. The reality is that the pain can be much, much more intense in the absence of overcoming the fear.

In the years before you step into a situation that will make you face fear and anxiety, think about what you truly want from this company. What are you actually giving up if you are not succeeding? It is important to feel this deep down. Why are you in this business in the first in the first place? What do you want? What happens if you fail to achieve your goals or do not succeed? I've written about this before and this is the "why". Without a clear and powerful "why" fears could be too powerful to overcome. This is a problem that many unsuccessful investors have that the successful ones do not. With a strong "why" the fear of failure will never be a hindrance!

Then stop reading and consider that. You should think about what you want. It's bigger than money and larger than you? It's not because you're seeking a big house and a nice car. It's something significant that will cause emotions when you speak about or contemplate. An example could be a charitable cause or a family member you wish to assist or. Spend time thinking about why you need to succeed and place reminders in the areas you are working. Photos or motivational quotes are great. I have a coffee mug that I drink my coffee from each day that is decorated with photos of me and my girls. It is impossible for me to not be engaged when I look at the same thing every single day.
