Robot vacuums have become a lot more prevalent in recent years. As new models roll out of the factories, they come armed with a smarter computer, more features, and most importantly, a cheaper price. Customers have responded in kind and a robot vacuum scuttling around the house is no longer a rare sight.

If you’re planning to get one for your home, here is  The King Live’s top pick for the mid-2022 season!

1/ Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S

The Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S is our top recommendation if you fall in either one of these groups: 1/ First time users or 2/ Need an entry-level robot vacuum. The 11S comes with a very basic set of features, but thanks to its affordable pricing, it has launched to the top of selling charts everywhere. It further helps its case by having a solid design and pretty good performance.

On vinyl floors, the RoboVac 11S has decent cleaning performance. It’s able to clean up dirt and debris on the floor without damaging or dulling the surface of the floors. However, we’ve noticed that it has a lot of trouble picking up pet hair. So, if you’re a pet owner, you may want to look at a different model.

The robot’s design is good. It’s slim enough to fit underneath furniture and get into tight spaces without a problem. Battery life is also great. The robot was able to clean for over 1.5 hours in our tests.

But there’s a reason why it’s so cheap: it doesn’t come with many smart features. Specifically, it has a very basic navigation system, meaning the robot just moves around your room randomly. As a result, it may miss some spot or try to clean spots that it’s already gone over.

The robot also doesn’t have mobile app connectivity. Fortunately, it does come with a remote control.

Our biggest issue with the RoboVac 11S, though, is how difficult it is to maintain. There are a lot of parts that need to be replaced regularly, like the air filters and the brushes.

2/ Shark AV752 ION Robot Vacuum

Need something that has more features than the RoboVac 11S but still in the affordable range? There’s the Shark AV752.

Like the Eufy 11S, it is Shark’s entry-level product. However, the key difference is that the AV752 isn’t nearly as barebone as the other robot. It comes with several modern features, like WiFi connectivity and mobile app control, which can make the robot easier to use by orders of magnitude.

In terms of performance, the Shark AV752 is about as good as the 11S. It did well in our vinyl floor test and was able to pick up most dirt and debris without damaging the floor’s surface. Nevertheless, this model still struggled with picking up pet hair, so it may not be the best choice for pet owners.

Despite having a few extra features, the automation of the Shark AV752 is still very basic. It uses the same navigation method as 11S. Therefore, it’s not a very efficient robot. You may find it cleaning the same spots again and again, or even straight up missing spots on the floor.

The design is solid and high-quality, though. We expect it to last for a long time. Battery life is excellent. While we were testing the robot, our unit was able to clean continuously for up to 2 hours at a time.

Maintenance is tricky with many parts that need to be cleaned and replaced regularly.

Conclusion

Robot vacuums are the way of the future. Hopefully, you have managed to find the best robot vacuum for Vinyl plank floors  among the two models above.
