Who are the top trending transfers for Arsenal F.C. as the transfer window keeps sliding open?

When it comes to Arsenal, the top London Football Club of 2022-23, who are the most likely incoming signings? The three most talked about targets, and who is most likely, are listed here!

First up, let's go to the signing that has just hit the news wire....the Chelsea enigma....

Kai Havertz

Right out of left field, we are told that Arteta is a big fan of Havertz, and that Arsenal have now initiated talks on securing his services asap. How reliable is that?

Well, first of all, the biggest indicator of this being an authentic story is that the always reliable Fabrizio Romano has said that there are "positive contacts on player side"...usually a precursor to a signing.

The one big negative to this story is that Chelsea are holding out for up to 75 million pounds...presumably to balance the books after their careful skirting around FFP in the last window...and a continuation of high money signings in this window.

Romano indicates that this is a move that Havertz himself is open to. As such, this would normally be a 9/10..if it weren't for Chelsea's need for a cash injection. So....

I GIVE THIS A 7/10

DECLAN RICE

I know..I know...Rice has been talked out until we are all out of breath! However, this is a story we can't put to bed yet. Why?

Rice reportedly told a fan that he is going "nowhere". So, what should have been a slamdunk for the Gunners is now a little more of a foggy proposition...will it go ahead, or not?

The problem for Rice..presuming that he has now entertained second thoughts, is that he has told the club and Sullivan in particular, that he wants to leave. To do a 180 now, would be welcome at West Ham, but would also, perhaps, indicate some dilly dallying in his resolve and personality. I think that this is simply a case of 'not sure the grass is greener' thinking. With that being said, I think that Arsenal will go in with an offer over 100 million(including add-ons), and West Ham will settle Rice's nerves.

Even though that is the most likely outcome, this is by no means a done deal....as such, a 10/10 is now an 8/10

8/10 FOR ARSENAL TO COOK A RICE DINNER

MOISES CAICEDO

The strange thing about this one is that Arsenal reportedly went in with an offer of 75 million only 6 months ago, and now he could be sold for 70 million, despite signing a long-term contract extension?

Obviously, he was secured for 6 months to help the team for the remainder of the season, however, it is still a little bit odd if you ask me.

What are the chances that Moises will go to Arsenal? If this were 6 months ago...when Caicedo seemingly professed his undying love for the Gunners...this would be a dead cert. However, times have changed, and Chelsea's transfer policy seems to be focused on stealing Arsenal's transfer targets...as though they don't have any ideas of their own....so, there are already rumblings that Chelsea will match whatever Arsenal offer.

Why Chelsea can't come up with their own ideas is beyond me. However, their skullduggery means that this deal is now only just in Arsenal's favour. As such this transfer rumour has slinked from a 9/10 to....

6/10

If Arsenal are to at least match this season's exploits next year, then they need to spend...and spend big, this window.

As such, they won't give up any transfer without a fight. Expect 2 out of the 3 options above to sign...any less would irritate Arsenal fans, and be a capitulation on title amibitions for the season ahead.

Don't forget too, we haven't mentioned Gundogan. Why is this? Expect G to make some sort of announcement within the next week. It truly is a 50/50. Either he will sign for the Arsenal...or he won't. There is no more to be said. Arteta loves him, Gundogan, in the twilight of his career, has to love whatever secures his financial future. As such, it truly is a yes..or no...you might as well flip a coin on that one!

And..just now, on Twitter this:

BREAKING: #WHUFC have rejected an opening offer from #AFC for Declan Rice.

Arsenal had indicated they are willing to meet the asking price of over £100m but their initial bid is believed to be much lower.
