A traffic light is red, amber or green...how is Arsenal's pursuit..green to go, red to stop, or amber..proceed with caution?

Arsenal did make Moises Caicedo a priority. After all, it was reported that 2 bids were lodged in the January transfer window..in addition to Caicedo publicly demanding a transfer. So, it was believed that Arsenal would get the deal done as soon as the Summer window opened.

It was indeed reported that, along with Declan Rice, Arsenal would sign both midfielders at a cost approaching 200 million pounds. Then, along came the Havertz story, with Arsenal reportedly willing to pay 60 million too..Suddenly, it seemed Arsenal were going to copy Chelsea, and just start buying players for fun.

However, today seems to have changed all that.

Enter The Ever Reliable Fabrizio Romano To Spoil The Party

So, today's update from Romano has somewhat spoiled the nitrous oxide party that Arsenal fans were inhaling. But, what exactly did Romano say....or, rather, Tweet?

Well...this to be exact...

  • Chelsea advancing on Caicedo personal terms;
  • Talks with Brighton expected to start next week;
  • Player doesn't see any chance to stay;
  • Arsenal only focused on Rice/Havertz;
  • Bayern, no talks.

So, it seems that Caicedo is no longer part of the Gunners' plans. Well, I guess it's better than Arsenal bidding and Chelsea Highjacking!

Oh well, Gunners fans, there is still plenty more Rice to harvest...if we can get a serious bid out before someone else does!
